This is nonsense. Such questions are typically asked by the court
officials. I could also have asked the official why she needs to know
my proffession, marital status, nationality and similar information in
order to accept my testimony regarding a traffic accident, but I
don't, because frankly it's none of my business - if they want to
know, I'll tell them.
